CPAP system is indicated for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrom.
This is a condition where narrowing of the upper airway caused by the soft palatina and tongue during sleep and snoring results in compromised breathing and sleep quality with daytime sleepiness. The constant positive air pressure through a mask over the nose opens the airway and in this way takes away snoring and apneas.
